Chinese Ambassador Meets Education Minister Pokharel to Strengthen Nepal-China Cooperation

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology in Singha Durbar, where both sides discussed expanding collaboration in areas such as education, science, technology, and sports. 

Digital Transformation and Education-Oriented

During the discussion both sides put great stress on the improvement of school infrastructure and promotion of digital learning systems in Nepal.

Officials stressed the need to modernize the education sector through the introduction of advanced technologies and the enhancement of institutional capacity. The discussion also included the larger contemporary issues that are impacting Nepal’s education system.

Pokharel said the government was now busy with modernization and accessibility, but digital transformation in education was the need of the hour.

In reply, Ambassador Chang Maoming reiterated China’s readiness to support Nepal’s priorities.

"China is ready to continue cooperation and beef up partnership in mutually beneficial fields, especially education and technological development," he said. 

Both sides agreed to continue cooperation and move forward with common goals.

Strengthening bilateral ties

The meeting also underscored the age-old relations between Nepal and China.

The officials discussed ways to further strengthen the diplomatic ties and expand the cooperation in various fields. It was a question not only of immediate projects but also of long-term strategic cooperation.
